2024 Queensland Long Distance Championships
When: 21 & 22 September 2024.
Where: Stanthorpe area.- Weekend before AusChamps in Armidale -- Great pre-champs training! - Maps will be 3 hours from Armidale, 2.5 hours from Brisbane.
- Extend your 2024 AusChamps travels and visit the Granite Belt, Queensland's premier country getaway destination
Event Format: 2 days Long Distance Event. Winners are determined by cumulative times over two days.
Terrain: Beautiful granite terrain
Entries: Via Eventor - Opens late August 2024.
Accommodation: Orienteers intending to participate in the Qld Long Distance Championships are advised to make their accommodation bookings early.
Possible accommodation options:
The Top of the Town Tourist Park, beside the Stanthorpe Showgrounds, has a range of accommodation available.
The Sommerville Valley Tourist Park, beside Storm King Dam, also has plenty on offer. This park is only 15 mins from the Long Distance Championships.
Camping is also available at the Stanthorpe Showgrounds.
The Summit Backpackers Hostel also offers some cheaper accommodation.

Catering: Some catering will be provided at the assembly area. ( menu to be advised)
Split Start Times: Entrants will be allocated start times for both days prior to the event. Split times ( eary or later in the starting block on either day) for child minding or shadowing purposes will be available,
