Event 1 - Foot Orienteering



A fundraising event is to be held to celebrate the life of Tim Apelt, TFO’s Immediate Past President, at Boronia Forest Reserve, Boronia Heights, on Sunday 14 October 2012.


Proceeds are to be donated to Cancer Council Queensland for prostate cancer research.


Program for the day


10.00 Foot Orienteering
Courses: Moderate Long 4km;
Moderate Short 2.2km;
Easy 1.75km


11.00 Family Activities


11.30 Lunch of cold meats and salads $5 each


12.30 Bike Orienteering
Courses: Adult 6km
Kids 2.4 in the reserve



A raffle will be conducted with the major prize, an Orienteering Pack, valued at $100 (comprising an S18 Stick, a Moscow Plate Compass and a Control Description Holder) being donated by Wildfire Sports. Other items in the prize draw will include a copy of Cave Hill, Rob Simson’s latest novel, two native plants, and two bottles of wine.


Tickets will be $1.00 each, 7 for $5.00 or 15 for $10.00.


Donation boxes will be at OQ events in the weeks prior to 14 October. Donations are tax deductible. Cheques made out to ‘Cancer Council Queensland’ may be given to Rob Simson or David Schulz at events; alternatively you may wish to send a donation to: TFO, PO Box 12375, George Street QLD 4003. If you are looking for another way to support the event, Wildfire Sports is donating $15 to Cancer Council Queensland for any order over $80 between now and 15 October.
