Junior Camp

The camp is open to all junior members of Orienteering Qld aged between 12 and 20, doing moderate or hard navigation. It is designed to provide instruction and coaching for intermediate to advanced levels. Please note that this camp is not suitable for beginners.

This year's camp is being held in Stanthorpe, with accommodation at the Top of the Town Tourist Park. The camp will start with sprint training at Highfields State School, Borghardts Rd, Highfields at 10.00am Thursday morning. From there, participants will travel in Helpers' and Coaches' cars. Parents and carers will collect the participants after the Camp Champs at McAdams on Sunday morning.

COST: $165.00 per person - includes all meals from dinner Thursday evening to lunch Sunday, 3 nights' accommodation in cabins and the Lodge at Top of the Town Tourist Park, Stanthorpe, transport from the first training at Webb Park to the camp champs at McAdams, all coaching and maps. Families of 3 or more juniors receive a $50 discount for each of the 3rd and subsequent children (select "Add service" on the Entry page).
We encourage all participants to live in for the full camp experience, however if you live nearby you can attend as a day visitor. The cost is $70. This includes coaching, maps and dinners on Thursday and Friday nights (not Saturday night). It does not include breakfasts, lunches, transport or accommodation. Day visitors will be included in all camp activities.
The camp is subsidized by Orienteering Qld through the Qld Gov Active Women and Girls Program. We are particularly keen to have an even split of boys and girls participating. The Saturday afternoon Challenge will be a Boys vs Girls competition - no pressure!

Please note that the cost of the camp does not include entry to the Camp Champs on Sunday at McAdams. Everyone must register separately for this event, and pay on the day (cash or eftpos).
