Announcement of Qld Schools Orienteering Team 2024

The Qld Schools Orienteering Championships 20-21 July were the final 3 selection races for the Queensland Schools Orienteering Team to compete in the Australian Schools Orienteering Championships, to be held in Armidale as part of the Australian Orienteering Championships in Armidale (28 Sept-6 Oct).

The selection panel has now selected the team, and the selection has been ratified by OQ. It was not an easy task, as the results in some classes were quite mixed. After careful and detailed analysis of many factors in the performances in all 9 selection races, and in accordance with the published selection policy, the following team of 20 athletes has been chosen (in alphabetical order). Several reserves have also been nominated. If a named team member is unable to take their place in the team, a reserve (not necessarily from the same class) may be called upon to join the travelling team.

Specifically, each of the 20 selected athletes will compete in the following 3 events:
