Donnelly's Castle is a hill of massive boulders and a map of this Council reserve was made for the club by founding member, John Bourne, back in 1985. There's been a few changes to the area since then and mapping styles have also developed somewhat but nevertheless it will be a fun place for our end of year event.

There will be a 45 min score event which will be available from 10am - 12pm. Come and enjoy exploring amongst the boulders (you might even find the lair of the yowie) and there is a great view across the Granite Belt from the lookout on top of one of the biggest rocks.

Afterwards, relax and enjoy a social gathering and brief meeting with BBB club members. There are picnic tables, shade and a toilet but perhaps bring along your own chair. There is a BBQ if you want to bring something to cook for lunch although we will have some of the sausages left over from the Qld Championships BBQ.

To get there from Warwick, turn off the highway at Thulimbah and take the Amiens Road west of the village. Follow for 2km before turning left into Goodwin Road. Follow this road for a further 2km before turning right into Donnelly's Castle Road. It is a further 5km before you turn right into Donnelly's Castle. Allow 60 mins from Warwick.

From Stanthorpe, turn off the New England Highway opposite The Summit Bowls Club and follow Granite Belt Drive through to The Summit store. Turn left here into Teale Road and follow for 3km before turning left into Donnelly's Castle Road and then follow the directions as above. Allow 25 mins from Stanthorpe.
