Toohey Forest Car Wreck Challenge - great success

Have you tried the Toohey Forest Car Wreck Challenge yet?

It has been a huge success, not only with regular orienteers but with the wider Brisbane community.

  • A group of venturers from Sherwood District have tried their hand at finding the eight wrecks marked on the map (incidently - word has it that there are in fact 9 wrecks out there!)
  • It has created a flurry of activity on both the Ugly Gully and OQ Facebook Pages with 15 'shares' to other facebook pages and over 130 people clicking on the Eventor link.
  • There have been four requests for pre-marked maps and
  • It was even shared on the OACT page with a suggestion that they do something similar on their Mt Jerrabomberra map.

Hopefully such great publicity will get many more people interested in orienteering.
If you have done the challenge, don't forget to tell others about it!
Running groups, rogainers, adventure racers and even school cross country teams will love the novelty of the event.

There are now SHORT and LONG versions of Car Wrecks Challenge.
Short Course = visit any 4 wrecks (from 3.5 km).
Long Course = visit all 8 car wrecks (9km).
Run/walk anytime with the MapRun app or download and print your own map.
