Environmental Monitoring Study Says No Long-Term Impact from Orienteering

A comprehensive independent environmental monitoring study by Aurecon Australia Pty Ltd of an area of Namadgi National Park used for a major orienteering event with 830 competitors on 3 April 2010 has revealed that a year after the event all but one of the monitored checkpoint sites had returned to their pre-event condition, indicating that observed changes in environmental condition resulting from orienteering are only temporary.
