Caroline carrying the Aussie Flag at the JWOC Opening Ceremony

Caroline Pigerre, who was selected in the Australian team to compete in the Junior World Orienteering Championships being held in Denmark at the moment (6-12 July), had the honour of carrying the Australian Flag at the Opening Ceremony of JWOC. This is the third time that Caroline has represented Australia at these championships which is a phenomenal achievement given the tough competition that she has had to overcome to be selected.

Caroline has been training with the IFK Lidingo Club in Stockholm since last August, whilst working as an au pair with an orienteering family.  She feels she has greatly benefited from this training environment.  Since June last year, she has competed in orienteering carnivals in Hungary, Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

You can follow Caroline's, and the rest of the Australian team's results at https://www.jwoc2019.dk/
An excellent video from the Sprint event, which features lots of Australians can be found here.
