A Fantastic Weekend of Orienteering

A Fantastic Weekend of Orienteering

A big thank you to volunteers from Ugly Gully for a great event at Maidenwell, for the Qld Middle Distance Championships on the Saturday afternoon. Thank you to all those school and university students who took time out during the exam period to set courses and compete. The terrain of scattered rock patches amongst open farmland made for challenging orienteering interspersed with good running. Beautiful winter weather made for a perfect day. (Dinner in Blackrock was pretty special too!)

Sunday saw us all out at Teelah for some classic spur gully terrain, including a very unusual cave! Thank you to everyone from Range Runners who helped out at the event especially course setters Blake, Grant and Jess who took out valuable time in the middle of exams. Again, perfect running conditions for OY 6. What a great weekend of orienteering!
